The people we met in Iraq have been incredible. Proud, such as this shepherd who insisted to put on his Kurdish turban before taking his photo, but above all extremely friendly and hospitable. At one instance we were even made to stop on the highway, just to take a selfie together 😅.

We feel honored to have been welcomed into multiple family homes, to share a meal or to stay for the night. Even the many military checkpoints made us feel welcome and safe at the same time 😊.
