After Qatar we entered Saudi for one last time, to drive the road to Oman. And what a road it was!

It is easy to understand why this area is called the Empty Quarter. Without any towns, villages or side roads, and with just a single petrol station, you drive for more than 600 kilometers through nothing but desert.

As if these dunes are not yet beautiful enough on their own, we had the luck to drive this road after a rare night of rain. With some parts still wet, and others already dried up, the dunes looked like multicolored sand art.
