Dakar 2024 happened to be right when we were in the area, so of course we had to go. The spectating is a sport on its own as you can see in the third picture 😅.

The true heroes are the riders though. They start in front of the rest, no navigator, no GPS, and no tracks in the sand to follow. All they get to navigate is a display with arrows, distances and icons.

As the instructions are only shared last minute, there is no time to prepare. They literally have to navigate and race at the same time 😳.
