Just before we wanted to pay for the tea, someone else quickly put down his money. Looking up, we saw the guy who stopped us in the street earlier, just to say: 'Welcome in Iraq'.

Then, people calling us, pulling us into a narrow alley. Each door a small shop or kitchen, wanting pictures, posing proudly, and giving us fresh bread.

As our last post from Iraq, this experience perfectly exemplifies our entire stay. Forget making plans, as the days will just go by in a frenzied trip of kindness and unexpected adventure.
