We visited the ruins of Babylon, which have partly been rebuilt. Some might argue that this is not authentic, but it surely helps to give a sense of scale. In between the ruins of Babylon is another former palace of Saddam Hussein which can be visited.

It seems we arrived in the middle of a school excursion, and we felt like celebrities. After many, many, many selfies we were joined by a guard to keep the boys at a distance, such that we could finally walk around the palace freely 😅.
