Ankwana is one of the suburbs of Erbil, which is the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan. Ankwana is also called the Christian quarter, which is why it has two things which are less common elsewhere: churches and liquor stores 🍷.

This church is called the Cathedral of Saint Joseph and is a Chaldean Catholic church. As we visited on the 24th, the church was open since they were busy preparing the mass for Christmas eve.
