After leaving the main road, the scenery often changes very quickly. Even if you are in a busy area it can suddenly feel as if you are alone in the world.

This is also where navigation stops being useful though. Satellite images can help, but often you simply need to turn around because the track stops, or changes into a narrow hiking trail.
