This is the ghost town of Kolmanskop ⛏️.

A small town, built by the Germans to set up mining in the area after some diamonds were found in 1908. Extravagantly built from the diamond wealth, the town included facilities like a hospital, ballroom, theatre and casino.

Already in 1920, just 12 years later, the town started to decline until it was finally completely abandoned when the diamonds ran out.

But now, it is just an awesome urbex photo location. If you pay a little extra you can get a special permit to visit any time you want, as we did early during sunrise.
